The Navesink Light Station – known to sailors as the Twin Lights – was a beacon for more than a hundred years, guiding ships around the rugged highlands south of New York Bay and safely toward the world’s busiest port. The first official reading of the Pledge of Allegiance also happened here, and the very first radio signals in America were relayed from this fascinating landmark on the Atlantic’s edge. In honor of the beacons – physical and historical – of Navesink, we crafted the Navesink chandelier; its armillary form recalls of a time when charting one’s course at night relied solely on the stars.
